LYÁ has a performance knit outer shell, an insulating thermal middle, and a bamboo satin inner lining. The outer layer shields against ambient heat, the middle layer regulates temperature, and the inner satin reduces friction against your hair by roughly 43% compared to cotton. Together they preserve color, moisture, and texture through heated workouts.

S/M fits a 21–22.5 inch head circumference. M/L fits 22.5–24. If you wear a hat in the M/L range or have thick hair worn down, size up. Both sizes have a wide internal elastic — gentle hold, no headache.

Yes. The satin lining is the hair-protective layer; it works the same way on color-treated, natural, curly, fine, and thick hair. The construction is open enough at the back for braids or a low bun to fit comfortably.

Hand wash cold with a mild detergent. Lay flat to dry. Do not tumble dry, do not bleach, do not iron the satin lining directly. Inside-out hand wash after every 4–6 wears in moderate sweat conditions.

Folded flat in a drawer is fine. Avoid hanging it for long stretches — the elastic relaxes faster under tension. Keep it out of direct sunlight to preserve color.

With reasonable care, the outer shell holds shape for two to three years of regular use. The satin lining is the wear point — expect to replace after about 18 months of heavy use, sooner if you train daily.

LYÁ is currently pre-launch. The first batch ships in the late summer of the launch year. Waitlist members are notified by email two weeks before orders open and receive an early-access window before public release.

Unworn, unwashed coverings can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a full refund. We don't accept returns of items that have been worn during a workout — for hygiene reasons, and because the satin lining shows wear.

The first batch ships within the United States. International shipping will open in the second batch — let us know on the waitlist if you'd like to be notified when your country becomes available.
